What is ARMIS and what can it do for you?
ARMIS is a comprehensive product that provides Biological Service Units with a fully automated solution that can run from a one PC operation all the way up to the largest multi-unit enterprise spread over a number of locations. ARMIS works seamlessly in rodent and aquatic environments. ARMIS supports researchers, technologists, unit managers, departments and the biological services enterprise management.
ARMIS uses the internet to forge a direct link between the researcher and their animal colonies. The researcher is able to track, monitor and issue work requests such as genotyping, pairings and disposals in real time without the need to breach the animal unit bio-security barriers. Each stake holder involved has their own website to interact with ARMIS.
Our ARMIS ARC software can be run from android tablets or smart phones. Our full ARC product is an interactive piece of software used by technologists in the animal rooms which records, processes and manages transactions which interface directly to ARMIS web clients to update entire BSU systems. It intuitively allows researchers and technologists to record animal work as it is undertaken. This product connects to peripherals such as RFID or barcode readers, printers, weighing scales, uses touch screens to let technologists or researchers to intuitively record all of their animal work without the need for paper or a keyboard and accommodates the use of 1D and 2D barcode readers.
ARMIS ARC is equally at home in the aquarium as it is in the transgenic breeding room. It maintains breeding, health, clinical signs and procedure records and is able to predict work flow such as weaning and genotyping schedules. It seamlessly interfaces with the Tecniplast Tritone fish feeding robot. ARMIS also has the capability to map rooms details of which can be interrogated over various criteria prior to any visit to a unit.
We provide HO Return Reporting, training and competency management, pain severity recording and automatically manage all stock, finance and compliance across the enterprise.

Technologists:- Use our ARMIS ARC Terminals in the animal rooms. Researcher work requests are routed to the technologists in the relevant rodent room or aquarium. The work is undertaken and recorded as it happens and immediately updates ARMIS across the enterprise. Any activity that can be undertaken with animals can be recorded at the ARMIS ARC Terminals by technologists or researchers themselves. Any cage\tank labels are produced as required at the touch screen terminal.
Unit Managers:- Uses the web to ensure work flows through their unit smoothly and resolve any issues the researchers may raise.
Enterprise Management:- Uses the web to view stock and money. Comprehensive balance and trend reporting is provided. All billing is achieved at the touch of a few buttons. ARMIS associates a cost to each activity and item that can be provided to researchers and automatically manages all charging and stock management in the background.
Departments:- Use the web to see which researchers are charging against their grants and for what reasons. ARMIS can automatically call funds down from grants into Biological Services income accounts.
Automation:- Our ARMIS ARC Terminals are touch screen and provide automatic cage\tank recognition via RFID or barcodes. ARMIS can map rooms using our ARMIS MARC mobile apps range, researchers and unit manager are provided with a web map of any room they wish to view prior to any visit to a unit. Our MARC apps allow technologists to roam freely around animal rooms recording transactions and enquiring as they go.
